The beginnings of our collecting date back to October 1971. The main impetus at the time was the discovery of old magazines Stadión in a box of old prints in the attic of our house in Brtná u Želiva. Our priority has always been to build a sports archive, which was followed by a collection of signatures and sports cards. We have been engaged in this beautiful hobby, which has gradually grown into a lifestyle, for two generations as a father and son.
Our collections did not remain hidden in a drawer. We organized four exhibitions focused on the NHL, Czech hockey players in European leagues and the history of European football cups. Visitors could see sports cards, relics, photographs and archival prints. We were members of the Association of Czech Sports Historians for several years. Our lifelong hobby also influenced us professionally, as we embarked on a path in the fields of physical education, sports and history with our education and careers.
